A couple of weeks ago Lee couldn’t make it out to my house for our normal weekly session, so Adrian and I took the opportunity to get our freak on in a big way… up ’till 3am on a school night - naughty boys. Anyway, smoke ‘em if you got ‘em, listen, and enjoy!
From March 30 to April 1, 2001 a bunch of dudes got together in the basement of 140 Possum Hollow Road in Newark to freak out and record; a 3-day music party experiment. This post is the end result - or at least the first part of the end result; there are still many hours to be mixed down. This recording session was conceived by myself and Tom Dougherty, hosted by Kevin Thomas, engineered by Sgt. Scrapes and me, and then mixed down by Sgt. Scrapes and me. Enjoy!
Well, I finally made it to the half-way point for an entire year! This Freak of the Week was improvised a ways back on October 29, 2002. I am considering it a Karma Canon session, although Peter Schroeck was not present on this particular day. So basically, it was Lee, Michael, and myself. It was this particular session that spawned the Karma Canon classic “Checkout Girl” which is the first track on this post. Enjoy!
This is the third and final part of a three part series featuring the he various artists of The Music Never Stopped, an improvisational music event that took place on January 17, 2002 to benefit the Delaware Sierra Club’s Sustainability Project. This project was put together by Matt Urban, and I was on the project team. CD Artwork was by Jessica Bratton and myself, all photos by Jessica.
